Prince William Sound

Back to Tours

This tour heads northeast out of Anchorage, up the Eagle River Valley over the Eagle glacier and high (6000 ft) by the Knik Valley, into Prince William Sound at the Harriman Fjord then descending over the College Fjord to get a great look at the Harvard and Yale glaciers along with the multiple smaller glaciers in succession along the College Fjord. From there we travel south past Whittier into Blackstone Bay to view the Blackstone Glacier with it's steep approaches to the salt water and stunning waterfalls.

Then up over the Blackstone glacier, down the Spencer Glacier, along the valley leading to Turnagain Arm which we follow back to Anchorage. We often see Dall sheep, moose, Mountain goats, bears, sea otters and Beluga whales on this tour. Once in a while if the wind and tide are right we get to see the famous bore tides of Turnagain Arm.
